THE NEED
The strength and rigidity of the truck’s front portion to be analyzed under different operating conditions and find the deformation characteristics associated with safety when a collision happens.


SOLUTION PROVIDED
We did a numerical simulation that provided a deeper insight into the influence of design parameters, structural design, materials, weight, and cost of the components. This allowed finding the perfect balance between safety standards and cost-effectiveness. This numerical solution enabled us to capture the accurate physics behind the non-linear and dynamic forces.
Analysis validations were also carried out by comparing Quadrant’s analysis results along with NHTSA baseline data and model to justify the reliability and accuracy of the analysis results.
AS A RESULT,
It provided valuable inputs for the truck interior impact analysis such as bolster design, airbag design, and seat restraint design. Quadrant’s analysis methodologies and the connection between the cross-functional teams have helped to perform a detailed level of analysis at each component of the truck, drastically reducing the time required for physical testing, in turn reducing the costs as well. Also, the truck is simulated under different operating conditions to find the worst-case scenario and make design changes required before going through the safety check certification.
