THE NEED

Industrial suppliers wanted to identify the best suitable robot arm with a specific degree of freedom to perform a specific function.

SOLUTION PROVIDED

Our team had to come up with a motion profile to perform the specific operation and given time frame which included the design of a custom-made bracket and joint design. FEA rigid dynamic was performed to create and understand the motion profile which provided the maximum operating acceleration of the component. In addition to rigid dynamic, transient structural dynamics were also performed to validate the component design, strength of the components in its operation lifecycle. It’s then imported to analyze the composition and calculate the maximum reaction that is seen at the base plate of the robot.

AS A RESULT,

We created a quick operating robot arm design that’s functional, rigid, and dynamic. Since these robots are bolted to the floor Quadrant team have also investigated and calculated the required anchor design and embedment length to take maximum load and vibration.
